During a pre-op consult, we will go over things you can do to prepare your body and mind for surgery. As well as making sure you know what to ask your surgeon for when you meet them. This is particularly important if you are traveling out-of-state. Once we've covered what each individual should do prior surgery and immediately after, will show you garments and how to use them to reach your body contour goals.
Every body and every surgeon is different. Some surgeons will put you on supplements to prepare your body for surgery. Otherwise you’ll need to consult your PCP for ways to prep your body. Some people look for ways to improve their hemo levels and make sure they aren’t constipated because some of your post-op medications can cause constipation.
If your labs aren’t accepted it can be health related so your surgeon will tell you what to do to correct it or they will explain why you’re not a candidate for the procedure.
Be sure to include any lab work or discuss possible conditions such as high/low blood-pressure, anemia, etc. prior to scheduling your surgery and visit us for a Pre-Op Consultation to learn more about preventing disqualification.
In most cases your surgeon will put you in a garment after they've completed your procedure. As far as purchasing a new garment, you won’t know what size you’ll need until you’ve had surgery because your body will be swollen so it’s best to purchase your long-term Faja after surgery.
We carry most sizes, colors, and types, and can fit your post-surgery body to the most appropriate garment. If you purchase a Faja from Elite Bodies of Work, we also include 1 complimentary alteration.
Your post-op care provider should show you how to wear your Faja and the length of time you wear your Faja varies from person to person based on what procedure you had performed. But on average it’s about 3 to 6 months, but sometimes longer. During our Pre-Op Consultation, we'll discuss how to wear your Faja to meet your post-op contouring goals.
Always consult with your care specialists, including us, on how to wear your Faja. Remember, every body is different, and every procedure is individualized. You cannot reach your body goals watching videos online!
First and foremost follow your surgeons directions! Remember, there’s no such thing as a dumb question if you see or feel like something isn’t right please say something! When receiving your massages from a licensed and certified therapist is very important to communicate as well! Care from the wrong person can botch your results or slow your recovery process. Be sure that you've done your own due diligence and received education from tried and true professionals.
Your first massage may be slightly uncomfortable but it shouldn’t be painful. You should feel some relief and less discomfort.
It varies from person to person based on what procedure you had done and what your surgeon clears you for. Sometimes it’s 3 or 4 the first week and from there it depends on what you as a individual need. We will discuss the best LDM package and routine for you during your first post-op massage.
